Turn down the dimmer switch and see the stars
The trials and tribulations of life can be unbearable. A lot of people fear their own lives. The fear they won't have this, this won't work out, they will be without, they will have to face this and that... etc. There is so much going on in our daily lives we need a good nights sleep just to settle down from it all and have a break. (I know some of you out there need less sleep than others, but trust me, you NEED sleep. :) Maybe in the times where human lives were more simple it came down to just flowing with the time of day. As the sun rises, the setting around us become clear and we can set about our daily tasks. We begin doing what we need to do and seeing what we need to see, right in front of us. The small things in life are illuminated and we can see in detail the surroundings we are in. As the night sky returns, our ability to see the scene around us gets limited, but the universe beyond our daily lives become illuminated and bright, reminding us that we are part of something much bigger than our small tasks for the day.
Now, we have electricity, cars, and multi-tasking to keep us from the reflection of the night sky. For some, where they live is difficult to even see the stars because of the artificial illumination around them. But we still could to take a moment to contemplate the universe. Forget for a moment the daily grind, the to do lists and the "have tos" to just be with the significance we are putting into, what the larger universe might claim as, insignificant.
Insightful Inspiration for the week
Turn down the dimmer switch on your life for a moment and see the stars above your head. Yes, you have to face your daily tasks and the life you lead, but give yourself time to contemplate and relax into the bigger picture that you are part of. Allow the cycle of the day to have more impact on your life, if just for a day. Notice when the sun goes down how your energy feels and honor the drop that naturally takes place. Take time to stop, rest and be with the oneness that is all around you, not demanding anything of you, but to just notice and be with this space. Remember that you are part of something small and part of something bigger. When we rest in the bigness of it all, it might take the overwhelm of the smaller things away and vice verse. See if you are able to be in balance with both.
