A Concept of Stress - Taking on Too Much Time!

Stress is a common word used to describe a condition that seems to be perpetual these days. It is intense, it is strong and it is relentless! As I take on my stress I look into the energy that is stored inside myself and often times I discover one pervasive thing... too many fractions of time inside myself. I ultimately discover that what I am in resistance to is the present moment BECAUSE I am storing up too much past and future to vibrate well with right now.

Let me put it another way. The thing that has me going in this stressful moment is contributing mental space to too many things at once, none of which are going on right now. I may be keeping a task list in my head for the week, thinking about what to make for dinner, what I am going to say tomorrow in that meeting with the teacher, how I am going to handle the problem at work, etc. You can see it adds up quickly! I may add to it the reeling over something that happened last week in a conflict I had and where is there any room for what is happening right now? There isn't! Since that is the only place I am at any given time, stress is my gauge, my warning light saying "HELLO! You are not in your body, inhabiting the moment you are in your head in five different places at once."

This doesn't end well my friends. Stress is known to cause physical issues, relationships problems, dysfunctional family dynamics, accidents... you name it. All to do one thing... WAKE YOU UP! Make you see now. Do you need an accident to help you put down your list? NO! So, just do it.

Insightful Inspiration for the week

Put down your list. Write it out if you must, but bring yourself into the moment we call now. Visualize yourself releasing time from all spaces within yourself making room for the present. Request gentler ways to see the moment and then pay attention to them. You can worry about the past and future all at once, but it isn't going to change a thing about them. But if you focus all your efforts on right now... you can do anything you want with it.
