Lessons of Life, Death, Expansion and Grief

Why live if you are only going to suffer and struggle in life and die anyway? Suffering maybe part of this experience on the physical plane. It may be unavoidable and part of this journey. But you came to play too. You came to bask in the glow of your physical existence.

Life is not a rush back to the other side. This is the playground of time and space. This is the realm of good food, smells, sights, and connections you could not have anywhere else.

Acknowledge the process of your life and your choice to lead it the way you do. No one else, no even your guides, are in charge of how you live if. Everything that comes to you is your soul’s opportunity and choice to learn and grow through joy and the contrast to that joy.

Mirrors of our Inner Truth - What you see is what you are.

For the most part people don’t see you, they see their idea of you, through their own filters of what they are. It is important to remember this when taking feedback from other’s or allowing other people to be the directors of your inner story.

On the flip side, it is also important for you to remember you do it too. Take ownership of your projections as your own inner truth and you have a whole new way of working with subconscious mind. Working with the subconscious mind, helps you see how your reality is being shaped by beliefs that you have, that you don’t even know you are manifesting from.

Stay on the Train of Intention

pirates

I love my job! The conversations I have with the unseen helpers in our lives, always excites me. I am motivated by inspirations, intentions to help and the improvements I see in others. I am not motivated by the concept of more, torturing myself to perform unattainable goals, but ushering myself into doing even more of what I love. How are you motivating yourself to get to your next level? How are you monitoring your progress on that goal? Here is a fun way to think of setting intentions that doesn't require struggle and stress.

Think of your desire for an outcome to be like that purchase of a train ticket to that outcome. For example, you want to find a job. You buy this ticket and get on the train of that intention. You trust that as you sit down on this train you are getting to your desired outcome. This doesn't mean you do nothing while on this train. But what it does mean is you have to stay on the train. Don't look out the window to see if you are on the right track, look out the window knowing you are and you are enjoying the journey. Don't stop the train and try to go somewhere else midway because you aren't sure you will get there, keep steady on your intention.  Know that you are on the right track if you are remaining loving, positive and in alignment with yourself and your intentions.

You might want to respond "Well when you buy a train ticket you know where you are going and that you will for sure get there. How do I know I will get there? Every time I look for a sign that I am getting there, I don't see it."

Here is the response, "You can't buy a train ticket from California to Kansas and expect to see Kansas every time you look out the window at the track. The landscape changes frequently as you travel to your intended destination."

We put out our intentions for things to happen, not realizing several landscape changes have to happen first to let that change take place. We get fearful as the changes happen, we doubt, we fret and we get impatient. All of this gets in the way of us allowing things to happen and flow in as we have requested.

Insightful Inspiration

What track of intention are you on? Are you watching the landscape change and allowing it to morph into the intention you have already set or are you trying to control it by trying to see too far ahead? If you have set an intentional destination for yourself get on that train and trust it will take you there. Let yourself notice your own barriers to your travels and gently maneuver around them allowing your life to make room for this intention you have set. A little patience might help here too. :)

Massage it out

My weak spot in my body is my lower back. It is actually part of what started me on the journey to wake up and pay attention to what is really happening. Anyway, I have a massage therapist that I use that is nothing more than a miracle worker! She just can get right to the issue and get it out for me. My back being out today gave me the motivation to write about how our energy is energy and what our bodies do is what the rest of our energy systems do too. For example, when she gets into a tight spot, the body flinches and protects the spot. It is painful and it doesn't want to feel this pain. At this point in the massage you have two choices, skip the spot or dig in deeper. If you skip it, the problem remains and festers, eventually causing more problems throughout the body. If you dig in deeper, the body resists the pain, but eventually is forced to let go and relax. What a gift to let it go! Now it may be sore and need healing after the release, but it is so much better than hanging on to it.

Now apply this emotions. We avoid the painful ones and stuff them when they come up. Problems come up because of this and it festers and causes more problems. If we just feel the emotions and get it out, it releases and we move on.

Apply this to mental processes. If we avoid things that are difficult or just think about the surface issue over and over, you never get that thought resolved and it takes away the energy to process other things. But if you dig in and figure out why you are mentally processing something, you can resolve it with more clarity.

You get the point, it might be better to focus on things rather than let it hang out and cause problems.

I want to share a video with you of my son. He is reading from my book, Insightful Inspirations, and he is reflecting (on his own, unscripted and unplanned) about his experiences with getting hung up on a blind cord. :(  His advice, stop trying to ignore it. Face it and let it go.

Insightful Inspiration Get a massage! Well, okay that is just a nice to have. Notice where you are feeling pain, tension or struggle and avoiding actually digging in. If these are particularly painful places to go to, get some help! Coaches, counselors, therapists, ministers, ME... we are all here to help you work through the painful places so you can release them. Support, to help you face what you aren't facing and move past it. What a gift. Give it a shot! :)

Why am I surrounded by idiots?

People spend a lot of time in my office asking me "Why do I keep attracting this?!" The interesting part of the law of attraction, etc. is that the more we ask that question, the more opportunities we have to answer it. We attract more and more of the things we find so irritating, until we figure out why it is we find it irritating to begin with. This is a difficult concept for people to get when it comes to the teachings of "the Secret", etc. They want to believe they are a victim of their life, maybe because it is easier than taking full responsibility, maybe because they don't know where to start if they have to think they are in 100% control, or maybe it has something to do with fitting it. What ever the reason people want to reject this idea, is the very reason they Key having these experiences.

Here is an example, one of my clients asks me "Why am I surrounded by idiots? Why is everyone in my world clueless and self absorbed?" This very question is kind of like raising your hand in class. You teacher is going to demonstrate your question, so you get your answer. How do they demonstrate it? Not by giving you the opposite of what you asked, but by giving you a closer look at what you asked, in other words, bringing you more clueless idiots in your life so you can figure out why you are attracting it.

A better question might be simply to ask "Why can't I surround myself with aware, informed people who are capable of thinking beyond themselves?" At lease it is bringing in the subject you truly want. However, it may take a few more idiots to get your attention in order for you to make the shift to attract what you desire.

In other words, the more you ask why you are having a certain experience, the more of those experiences you attract. It is similar said than done, because people ARE their beliefs and it is often hard for them to suddenly see themselves surrounded by a different type of person, when they are so use to be surrounded by what they typically see. That is the other part of the equation I have talked about so much on my blog. That part that says "I want this, but I don't believe I can have it." That part of you that rejects the people you want to attract because you don't believe it can truly exist.

Here is another example. I have a client who has asked for more people who "get" what she is into regarding energy work. Then she attracts those types of people, but she continuously rejects them because she doesn't believe they are truly the ones she has asked for and still must have the "old agenda" even though they say they don't. Her belief system is fighting with her law of attraction. This happens ALL the time. This may sound ridiculous to you, but I bet if you have done any of this law of attraction work and you see yourself not getting what you think you want. It is because you don't 100% believe it can be possessed.

Insightful Inspiration for the week

Use the question "How come this keeps happening to me?" in a different way. Instead of asking from a pity me space, asked if from a classroom space of true curiosity. Ask yourself  that question honestly and opening and see what answers come to you. You will get your answers. Some of them may be answers you don't want to hear, but you have to be willing to hear it. For example maybe you are attracting less intelligent people in your space because you have the desire to feel superior intellectually. You like being the "smartest" and being able to look around and not see anyone comparing to you. You might even like complaining about it. {gasp} :) Never the less, you can make a shift if you want to if you let go of the benefits this thing is secretly providing. Give it a shot!

Changing on the inside

I was reading Dragonspell to my oldest son this week, that I picked up from the used bookstore, Calico Books.  I love used bookstores!  Anyway, there was a line in it that I thought was so true I was inspired to blog on it. The line said "I'm changing so much on the inside. I keep learning things that seem to me I should have known all along." How true this is. When you are in a self transformation, the changes are happening in places no one can see, but everyone can feel. Often times this new awareness and knowledge feels like things we should have known all along. Probably because we do know it, we just chose to keep it hidden until we were ready. The thing I tell everyone is that your beliefs changes with the understanding of yourself and the world. It doesn't make your old beliefs wrong, it just makes them out of date. They were right for you at one point as are your new beliefs right for you now.  Sometimes we are unwilling to let go of old beliefs just because we have built so much of our lives around it, it would mean admitting it all had to change to change the belief. It would mean admitting that somewhere along the line we made a wrong turn. We made decisions out of the wrong belief system. So, we often times just stay stuck in an old way of thinking, just to keep ourselves from having to make these drastic changes.

My proposal is, rather than looking to the outside world and saying "there is so much to do", let the changes that are happening within you help you shape your world, with ease not effort. Try and just let go of the idea that you were ever wrong or that where you are now is not where you are suppose to be. Instead, embrace where you are as perfection and flow with the changes that are coming from within you, without judgement or fear.

Insightful Inspiration for the week

Inside yourself is all the wisdom you need. It is always waiting for you to discover it. Even if it looks like an outside source, i.e. a blog, a book, a mentor, these external realities are being created from your inner wisdom. Check in with what you are beating yourself up over not "knowing" before. Let go of judging yourself from this place and see this new awareness that you "should have" known all along as coming in at the exact right moment. Before now, you were not ready to see yourself and the world with this knowledge. Now the changes on the inside have lead you to a new definition, which asks you to be fluid as your awareness is always expanding and redefining the world as you know it. Let go of the fear of change and old ways of thinking and embrace the things you knew all along but weren't ready for them yet.  Flow with it, you will love the results!

The Gap - Transitions

Transitions - movement, passage, or change from one position, state, stage, subject, concept, etc., to another; change as defined by dictionary.com. This is the primary time for all energetic things to go out of whack and the crazy thing is, we are always in transition. So what does that mean for our energy? It means it is time to be aware of why it goes out of whack to begin with.

When you are in a time of transition, for example moving to a new house, new job, new relationship, etc. you are feeling unclear about where you are headed and nevous about what you are leaving behind. It is like a gap. But the gap is where the freedom lies. Right before you start that new job, you can release old patterns of being at work and start fresh. Right before you move to a new house, you can go through your things and clear out the things you no longer need. This is a excellent time to reevaluate, slow down and recreate. You are not yet in an automatic pattern again! What a great opportunity for awareness.

Transitions don't have to be big either and you could even just be going through a transition within yourself that no one else even knows about. Maybe you are deciding to eat differently or think differently, maybe you are even deciding to just breath differently. :) These are all little opportunities to pay attention and make any small adjustments you would like to set yourself on the forward path.

Now what throws you off in times of transitions? Resistance, not being present, trying to hard, just to name a few (links back to older blogs about these topics I frequently visit).  The key to the transition is to pay attention to everything that shows up in the gap. Your fears, you struggles, your thoughts, your friends and family's thoughts are all things to notice because they are hints as to where you are headed next if you don't pay attention to them now.

Insightful Inspiration of the week

What transition are you fighting with right now? Are you trying to close the gap and "get on with it" rather than being present with the time in between?Or maybe just the opposite and you are struggling to stay in the in between because you are afraid of what is on the other side. Pay attention, these are fears and patterns you have carried with you for a long time. You can clean your energetic closet during this time as preparation for what is to come next. There is nothing to predict or plan for on the other side yet. Take the transition to make the next steps the solid ones you want.

Overcoming Adversity

As I do my work on this level I come to understand adversity seems to be the human condition available for all us to go to, if we choose. If our lives are lucky enough to have food, shelter, and cars, we create new adversities to face such as unemployment, abuse, addictions, etc. It seems to me that adversity is always available for us to have if we so choose. As I always love to define words, just because it really helps highlight the issue, Meriam-Webster dictionary defines adversity as: a state, condition, or instance of serious or continued difficulty or adverse fortune. I heard an inspiration on Marianne Williamson's Miracle Thoughts podcast,  from the Oprah Spirit Network, about Women being empowered. I am probably going to butcher the summary, but what I heard was stop saying you are not empowered and take your power. It is there for you to have (if you live in countries where women have equal rights, but I would venture to guess this stands for where ever you are).

This is so true for most of us. We go around saying how empowered we want to be, how hard we have it and we want it to be easy. We focus on our adversities and not on the miracle's that come out of it. The speech therapist at my son's school gave me a book, called Trail Mix, about kids overcoming adversities such as learning disabilities, leukemia, etc.  Those are true adversities to overcome, but the thing I hear when I read this book is when you are facing a true adversity, you have no choice but to go forward. Adversity brings in the possibilities of profound understanding of yourself and the world around you. When things are easy, you don't put awareness on making it better.

I am not saying to diminish how you are feeling about your own adversity because someone always has it worse. That just invalidates who you are. I am saying use this adversity to show you the parts of yourself that want to shine through the experience. The essence of you that wants to be more present in your life when all of this passes.

Insightful Inspiration of the week

What adversity do you feel you are facing right now? Are you dwelling in the story of the adversity or are you looking for the lessons and magic it holds for you? If you aren't facing an adversity right now, think back to a time you did and how you came through it a brighter person. Commend yourself for the strength you have and trust you will continue to have it, no matter what life throws at you. The key is, are you wise enough to glean the wisdom from the experience when it is over. The answer there too is YES!

Rebirth

As we arrive into a new year, it is a great time to reflect on the birth or rebirth of your life. Although this is happening continuously and often effortlessly, not just around the new year, 2011 gives us a reminder to pause and reflect. Most people tend to be very identified with a way of being in their life. For example, a set of patterns, a group of people, activities to attend, etc. In fact, we are so set in our ways, we struggle if we loose the option of one of these patterns. We fight to get it back or we grieve the loss of it. As Ecclesiastes states "There is an appointed time for everything" and the Byrds lovely song captures it so well.

But often times we fight the re-birthing process. We hang onto the things of the past or the way things worked before that are no longer working. As our lives evolve, so does our energy patterns, ways of thinking and ways of being in the world. If we let it. The re-birthing process isn't about dying and being reborn, but reshaping the way you think. Allowing your consciousness to move into a space that is working now, releasing what is no longer part of  you or your world. Also to be  flexible to what will be different later on.

Reality is more fluid than we think. We have the benefits, through the fast pace of technology, to see this more so than ever before. We are now living in a time where ideas can become reality in a matter of years if not months. Ideas that once would have been thought impossible. That is only possible because someone opened themselves up to a rebirth of thinking. A new way of being. How do you want to be?

Insightful Inspiration for the week

Open yourself up to the re-birthing process. Reinvent yourself! If you want to be different, then align yourself to be introduced to that reality as much as possible. Meet new people, experience new things, shake things up and see how the differences you experience expand your ability to change. Expose yourself to other people also reinventing themselves. Try letting go of things no longer serving you, even if you don't know what will replace it yet. Make room in that closet for new things or maybe just keep the spaciousness and don't replace it with anything! This can be something as big as a new job or a new place to live or as small as a new outfit you wouldn't dare wear before. Just shake things up a bit and see what else that inspires in you.

Putting your feelers out

People often come to me to find out what's next in their lives. Sometimes we get very greedy for these answers when we finally decide to ask the question. We want instant answers, NOW! Sometimes we aren't completely prepared for the answers, so they come in at levels you can handle them. Inching you along to find that ultimate answer. Put the question out and then you wait, notice and pay attention. The answer may not come in a word or a resounding next step. It may come as a song, a subtle message in an ad, or even just a friend calling and reminding you who you really are. Pay attention to these subtle responses and you will see the universe is constantly answering your questions. You just don't always want to listen to the answer.

For example, lets say you ask "What should I do next in my career?" and the ultimate response is for you to be doing something completely different than you are doing now. You may not be ready to hear that. So the response that comes back might be just to expand yourself where you are or prepare yourself for a move. Rather than just saying "move careers tomorrow" the universe is gentle with us, gliding us through to our next steps that we have asked for. If only we were so patient with our request for answers as the universe is with us receiving them.

Insightful Inspiration for the week

What question are you asking for instant answers on? What do you think you need to know NOW? Put your feelers out on this question. Notice the sights, sounds, and sensations the world is bringing you in response to this question. Don't over analyze it, just pause and sense. Do you like what you are being shown or are you waiting for a different answer? The answer may be different tomorrow if you want it to be, just put out the request and then wait for the next response. Glide yourself through this process rather than forcing it. You will be amazed at all the answers that have been given and are just waiting for you to notice.

Completion

As promised, there were a few topics requested that I add for the Oracle deck. So this is the last one. Completion. We have all heard the saying "every end is a new beginning". But what does that mean exactly? There are some things in life you can't have until you have a free hand, which means you have to let go of something else. Things like relationships, jobs, and home, typically (for most of us) runs in ones and twos. So you can't have the next house until you sell the old house, or you can't have the next relationship until you end the current one.

We often resist change because we are so wrapped up in the loss of letting something go and we don't yet know what it will be replaced with. We fear it will never be this good again. We are afraid of the possibility that this is as good as it gets and it can only go down from here. When we allow ourselves to dream of the future and trust miracles are coming, we open ourselves up to the gifts of the universe. When we fear we close ourselves off and keep ourselves trapped in a cycle of loss.

It is like a bird flying for the first time. The nest is cozy and safe, but letting go of the nest is important for the bird's survival and eventually, they just take off and fly.

Insightful Inspiration for the week

What phase is coming to a close for you right now? Are you letting it end, or are you clinging to like a lead anchor? What can you do to support yourself in letting go of that phase and coming into the new phase? What are your fears behind this end? What are your hopes and dreams? Let yourself imagine and expect the best. You are ready for clarity and new adventures.

What are you clinging to?

I am going through, yet another, major transition. I have blogged about letting go of things and just noticing and just being... but the test comes when big, unexpected changes come. I am finding myself having to remind myself not to resist the change, or go forward with fear.  How much do you cling to what is being let go of? Do you try and make things work in a bad relationship no matter what? Do you keep jobs that you hate just because you think you need the pay? Do you keep socks with hole in them, because they still do 90% of the job? LOL To let go of those things, makes room for the next great thing to come in. If we cling, it clogs up the system and then we have nothing of what we want, only a bunch of holes in our socks!  When a major end comes up unexpected, do you freak out and try and keep the end from coming? Or do you embrace it and let it go?  There is so much freedom that can be felt from loosing things. A job, a house, a relationship... notice what can be gained from the new freedom. Notice what the universe is trying to tell you? It is all just stuff, it isn't WHO you are or WHAT you are... it is just part of the illusion.  My inspiration for you this week is just look at what you are clinging on to that wants to end in your life? It could be as simple as throwing out the old sweater you loved so much or it could be a relationship you know is done, but you can't end. What is it for you? How can it bring you freedom to let it go? Can you let yourself have that freedom? Why not? What are you afraid of?

Love to you all.
