People get falsely lured into thinking that if you just know what is coming next, you will be okay and things will go well. Even if we can see the tidal waves coming, we can't always escape being swept away by them. In fact, if you can see them, the chances are you are going to get swept away by them.
Let me tell you quite bluntly, the fear of the unknown is holding you back. You don't have to wait for all things to be clear to trust your gut. You don't have to ask yourself what will be, you just have to look around and see what is.Read More
We are constantly getting signs, lessons, answers and messages from our guides and etheric helpers. Skeptics think this is all in people's heads. If that is true, let me tell you my head is SMART! Everything I hear your guides say for you is just right for you. Everything I hear them say for me is stuff I could never tell myself. So if that is all in my head, I am okay with that. Because it works. But for those of us with a little more open mindedness and willing to think beyond ourselves, hear me when I say, you are being heard and you are being answered.
Hearing the answers takes a few things besides just a clear head. Here are a few fun games to play with your guides to get the communication flowing.Read More
Chakras are just energy centers in our bodies. We use different sources of energy in order to be and manifest in the world. There are several different schools of thought regarding chakras, so I am writing from my own experiences and awareness, not from a specific school of thought.
By paying attention to energy fields, you are sending an intention to yourself and your energy to rise to a conscious level of manifestation. You can then use that awareness and intention to refine your energy fields and become a more conscious creator.
Notice your sacral chakra and see what you can manifest by paying more attention to it. This is the chakra that is in the groin area and in its ideal state, spins clockwise in an orange color. This is where you store information about creativity, sexuality and emotions. It also is where your appetite for things comes from.
When the sacral chakra is blocked, people lose their ability to see things in a variety of ways. They are blocked to different ideas about what is going on for them and have a very rigid approach to things. Here are some areas that are influenced by the sacral chakra.
- The ability to feel in control of your own life
- Access to diversity and different ways of thinking
- Familial emotional patterns, especial during puberty
- Social life
There are many indicators of an over active or under active sacral chakra. Primarily you are looking for times when you are overly emotional or lacking emotion.
Since the sacral chakra is part of what governs emotions, any emotion can be related to the sacral chakra. However, the key to spotting imbalances in this chakra is to look for a lack of or excess of emotions.
Sometimes what will happen with someone who is blocked there is that they will do what I call "fire hose" their emotions. This is where there is an excessive outburst of emotion, caused by a build up of unaddressed issues. Often when someone has this outburst they use it to validate that they can't be trusted with their emotions and bottle things up again.
The physical symptoms of a sacral chakra imbalance are easy to notice. When it is balanced you feel creative. You have the ability to see your own beauty and the beauty in others. You feel energetic access to your emotions, including the less desirable ones.
When you have an imbalance, many symptoms can come up. Just to name a few:
- Insatiable appetite for things, difficulty feeling satisfied
- Hip pain
- Lower back pain
- Lower abdominal pain
- Problems with reproductive organs
- Issues with fluid in the body including bladder and kidneys
When your body is talking to you about an imbalance though pain or discomfort, give it attention in a loving way. We often try and shame our bodies back into functioning properly. Instead, love it first and ask what it needs. Give it gratitude for holding onto the imbalance and making you aware of it.
You can't make positive changes if you are disgusted with or shaming yourself. First you need to accept yourself and know you are doing the best you can, and then go from there.
The People In OUr lIves
People can plug into our chakras and draw off energy from us. They can do it to us while in our presence or not.
Often people will draw energy from the second chakra because there is a desire for that person's sexual or creative energy. Someone also might plug into your second chakra if they have difficulty handling your emotions or creative intentions.
Your second chakra can also get hijacked by people who want your ideas or want you to apply your motivational space to their abundance space, meaning they want your ideas to make them money.
The Balancing Act
So how do you balance all this out? Meditation is always a great way to tune into your energy systems.
But if you are not a big meditator, here are some other ideas.
- Surround yourself with people who are creative and emotionally honest
- Create time in your day to be creative and reflect on your feelings
- Eat new foods or cook in new ways
- Connect with nature and express gratitude for the earth
- Chant VAM (mantra for sacral chakra)
- Visualize your life unfolding in new and unusual ways
There are many videos and meditations out there. This one is an interesting one.
Affirmations for the sacral chakra:
- "I am creative.”
- "I am allowed to feel.”
- "I am beautiful."
- “Life is pleasurable."
- “Playfulness is easy and regular in my life.”
- "I trust my desires to be good for me and others."
If you find any resistance to those affirmations, that is also a good indication that your sacral chakra is blocked. Dig in and find out why you are resistant and what you are telling yourself instead.

I have been so busy that I haven't had time to blog about my news! I have published a book! Insightful Inspirations, conversation starters with your authentic self. http://bookstore.balboapress.com/Products/SKU-000531426/Insightful-Inspirations.aspx This book is a compilation of blogs, work with others and just general wisdom I have recieved. It is designed to be held in your hand, holding a question in your mind and then open it up to some perspective. I hope to have a card deck that goes with it one day. The artist who did my cover, Stephanie Ingraham with Siyo, will be doing that artwork.
I have to admit that I was pretty nervous to put this book out. Even though I have had it written for over two years, there is just so much exposure with putting this out. I have already found one typo, despite having several proofs and am not sure I like how it printed with the questions on the back of the page. But the gift of this experience is that it is a perfect healing opportunity for my perfection issues! It doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful. That is the amazing gift I will find here, how to just trust and accept my imperfections.
On the flip side, I am even more worried it will do well! :) Fear of success I guess. But part of me worries that I won't have time and won't appreciate the exposure. Again, another amazing opportunity to face my fears and heal. I am catching myself saying "It is just a little book" or "Yeah, no big deal". Wow, who knew I would have such a hard time embracing my accomplishment! I am releasing this issue as well and look forward to whatever this brings.
I have been using the book on my own since I received it and I have to say, I love having it in a format I can hold in my hand. It is so much fun to use! (If I do say so myself.) So I hope you all will take a moment to check it out and find as much value out of it as I do.
What have you delayed putting out into the world because you are afraid of having it fail? Or maybe you are afraid of it suceeding! What is the worst that can happen? What is the best that can happen? Is it worth the risk?
If you have already faced something like this, share with us. We can all learn from you.
As we arrive into a new year, it is a great time to reflect on the birth or rebirth of your life. Although this is happening continuously and often effortlessly, not just around the new year, 2011 gives us a reminder to pause and reflect. Most people tend to be very identified with a way of being in their life. For example, a set of patterns, a group of people, activities to attend, etc. In fact, we are so set in our ways, we struggle if we loose the option of one of these patterns. We fight to get it back or we grieve the loss of it. As Ecclesiastes states "There is an appointed time for everything" and the Byrds lovely song captures it so well.
But often times we fight the re-birthing process. We hang onto the things of the past or the way things worked before that are no longer working. As our lives evolve, so does our energy patterns, ways of thinking and ways of being in the world. If we let it. The re-birthing process isn't about dying and being reborn, but reshaping the way you think. Allowing your consciousness to move into a space that is working now, releasing what is no longer part of you or your world. Also to be flexible to what will be different later on.
Reality is more fluid than we think. We have the benefits, through the fast pace of technology, to see this more so than ever before. We are now living in a time where ideas can become reality in a matter of years if not months. Ideas that once would have been thought impossible. That is only possible because someone opened themselves up to a rebirth of thinking. A new way of being. How do you want to be?
Insightful Inspiration for the week
Open yourself up to the re-birthing process. Reinvent yourself! If you want to be different, then align yourself to be introduced to that reality as much as possible. Meet new people, experience new things, shake things up and see how the differences you experience expand your ability to change. Expose yourself to other people also reinventing themselves. Try letting go of things no longer serving you, even if you don't know what will replace it yet. Make room in that closet for new things or maybe just keep the spaciousness and don't replace it with anything! This can be something as big as a new job or a new place to live or as small as a new outfit you wouldn't dare wear before. Just shake things up a bit and see what else that inspires in you.
This topic is by request. If you would like to request a topic feel free to post it to my facebook page or send me an email at email@example.com I have often been found saying that you don't have to learn your lessons the hard way, you choose to. This doesn't mean that some bad things don't just happen. But for the most part, the struggles that arrive in our life, especially with other people, often carry a message you have agreed to learn. I believe we agree to teach each other things about the way things work and often times to agree to be pretty hard on us until we do learn it. It is the concept that the message is first whispered, then it is said loudly and finally a ton of bricks are dropped on your head and it is screamed into your ear.
We often dismiss the whispers. Why? Well, it can be for a variety of reasons, but mostly because we are stuck in one way of being. Until we are ready to adopt a new way of being, we tend to try and stick with our standard plans. When something comes along and knocks us off of our axis, we tend to throw our arms up and say "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!" and finally listen to the answer. Not always though... we might try and still cling to the old way of being, making it even harder on ourselves and daring the universe to knock us over again and undoubtedly it will.
So the question for this blog is really, how do I know what lessons I am trying to learn before I get knocked off my axis? (Correct me if I have the question wrong, but this is the question I am answering.) I don't have an easy answer for you, but I can give you a few tips as your insightful inspiration for the week.
Sometimes however, you just have to experience what you are experiencing (rather than avoid it) in order to learn your lesson. Sometimes even knowing the lesson doesn't teach it to you. It is like telling a child the basic concept of multiplication and then saying go do it, including the entire range of numbers large and small. It is difficult to tell you in a blog how to address this fully and completely because life is the school. But I can give you a place to start so that you can be more aware in your lessons rather than being victimized by them. Use my suggestions as a place to start and then build your own list.
First and formost, go EASY on yourself. You can't expect a baby to know all about the world just becuase they are in it. It takes experiences and perceptions and the ability to self reflect to get the picture and even that isn't the full picture. If you are trying to learn a lesson to avoid the consequences of what you think is coming, you might be missing the point. You aren't learning the lesson, you are trying to manipulate the lesson. :)

If you are struggling with something right now that you can't quite understand the meaning of, you might be up against a major soul lesson. This is where being present really counts. Because if you are bringing in the past, present and future hypothetical into this issue, you could be clouding the lesson.
First, remember you can ask for help. Guides, Angles, God... what ever you pray to, they listen and they help. So send your love to your higher source (or yourself if you can't quite get beyond yourself right now) and ask for help. Ask for clarity, understanding and the grace to accept the lesson. Then listen for the answer. Notice the world around you and see what messages are trying to come through. Trust that these are your answers, regardless of the form they take.
Second, anchor yourself in NOW. This is where the lesson is being presented. Don't project into the future about the what ifs. Look at what is happening right now. Also notice what is NOT happening right now. Be present with your fears, feelings and thoughts. They are your road map to what you are trying to heal. If you are afraid, ask why. Drill in, find out where this fear is rooted in and allow yourself to ask "is this really happening or do I just think it might happen."
Third, give yourself compassion. You are not going to always know right away why you did something. You may have to just trust that the clarity will come later and right now, you just need to be present to see when the messages come. Beating yourself up for not knowing or being in the situation to begin with only drives the pain and hurt deeper and gives you more to do later.
Finally, don't rush through it. Don't make irrational choices just to hurry up and make something happen. People often try to get out of uncomfortable feelings by rushing through things or asking everyone they know for advice so they can say they "tried" to do the "right" thing. Remind yourself that this too shall pass and ride the wave the best you can.
People often come to me to find out what's next in their lives. Sometimes we get very greedy for these answers when we finally decide to ask the question. We want instant answers, NOW! Sometimes we aren't completely prepared for the answers, so they come in at levels you can handle them. Inching you along to find that ultimate answer. Put the question out and then you wait, notice and pay attention. The answer may not come in a word or a resounding next step. It may come as a song, a subtle message in an ad, or even just a friend calling and reminding you who you really are. Pay attention to these subtle responses and you will see the universe is constantly answering your questions. You just don't always want to listen to the answer.
For example, lets say you ask "What should I do next in my career?" and the ultimate response is for you to be doing something completely different than you are doing now. You may not be ready to hear that. So the response that comes back might be just to expand yourself where you are or prepare yourself for a move. Rather than just saying "move careers tomorrow" the universe is gentle with us, gliding us through to our next steps that we have asked for. If only we were so patient with our request for answers as the universe is with us receiving them.
Insightful Inspiration for the week
What question are you asking for instant answers on? What do you think you need to know NOW? Put your feelers out on this question. Notice the sights, sounds, and sensations the world is bringing you in response to this question. Don't over analyze it, just pause and sense. Do you like what you are being shown or are you waiting for a different answer? The answer may be different tomorrow if you want it to be, just put out the request and then wait for the next response. Glide yourself through this process rather than forcing it. You will be amazed at all the answers that have been given and are just waiting for you to notice.
My husband finally convinced me (and I convinced myself) to come into the smart phone phase. We purchased the iphone 4. We have had the phone for a week, but our old contract expires tomorrow, so we have been waiting to activate. You would have thought it was the count down to Christmas a new baby or something. Every day my husband says "X more days!". Tomorrow he has blocked off the entire day to play. This got me thinking about the concept of the newness of things. This is true for everything. Marriages, weddings, babies are obvious exciting times to prepare for, but what about those moments that aren't so obvious such as new projects, new friends, and new electronic toys! What is it about that build up that is so exciting?
It is the unknown. It is the realm of possibilities. It is where things are not determined yet and anything can happen. That is an exciting point in our creative process. The thing is that we are always creating something new. We start a new day, a new school, a new job, a new recreation, we meet new people. So how come some things are easy to get excited about an others we can't get excited about and maybe even dread? Maybe it is because we think things are already laid out. The possibilities are limited and we aren't that excited to see them play out.
What if we change our perspective to understand that anything can happen, at any moment. The possibilities are endless and are always unfolding.
Insightful Inspirations for the week
Start the day each day thinking that the possibilities are endless. Anything can happen and it is exciting to dream about what that could be. You could meet the love of your life, meet a person who can give you your dream job, you could even WIN the lottery! See if you can reengage that childlike curiosity and joy in the possibilities that are your life. Let them flow in and don't choke them off, thinking you have already got the outcome all figured out.
One of the questions I get asked by people just coming into listening to their world and intuition is, "how do I know I am not just making it up?" My response is generally "trust it". But taking it a step further, I say, so what if you are making it up? What if you are just pretending to pick up signals from the universe?
When you were little you indulged in the pretend and grew from that imagination. There are many articles talking about why pretend is important to young children's development. Check this one out. When did it stop being important for us to think abstractly and problem solve with things never thought of before? It didn't! So go ahead and pretend. What is reality anyway?
Insightful Inspiration for the week
Give yourself permission to indulge in pretending. Pretend to understand your situation clearer. Pretend you are getting messages from the universe on what you are supposed to be doing. Pretend you know where you are going! You already do this anyway, so why not embrace it and let it deliver the gifts of the unexpected. Let the creativity flow from you and when you find yourself asking "am I making this up?", joyfully respond, "YES!" and go with it.
As I work out decisions and issues in my lives I see the issue with having so many choices. We want freedom to choose and the options available, but sometimes all of those options cause stress. The question becomes is it more stress to have the options or NOT to have the options. I personally still prefer the struggle over the options vs. the limitations. I am grateful for the opportunity to get to know myself and what I do want, when presented the choices. Sometimes people turn to me to answer these questions on choices for them. I understand the lure of it. I wish I had all of the answers and knew the BEST choice at all times. But the truth is, sometimes the best choice is the "wrong" choice, because it takes us where we want to go on a level we couldn't do with our thinking mind A friend of mine gave me an article today about how people can get addicted to having someone else tell them what to do next, aka calling psychic hotlines. I don't have a psychic hotline... in fact, I don't charge by the minute and I rarely work with anyone without an appointment. But, I do still see people lured into the idea that someone else might be able to tell them what decision to make.
If you have had a reading with me, you know I don't give you any answers, just information about the energy regarding each of your choices. Then you are free to choose as you wish. That being said sometimes it is helpful to get another energetic perspective in that regard. But never to take away from your own intuition on what is right.
Insightful Inspiration of the week
Take a pressing matter you have in your mind right now. Something you think you "should" decide on soon. Maybe it is about a relationship, a job, or just what to have for dinner. Layout all of your options on a piece of paper. Listen to yourself about these choices. Have a conversation with yourself.
Is the issue that you feel you don't have enough choices or you have too many? How can you give yourself more choices? Get creative. There are always new ideas to be had in regards to choices. If you have too many, are there ones that are just there because you want to weigh all of the options? Do you really need them on your list?
Do you have to decide right now? Can you wait until things get a little clearer?
How does each choice feel in your body. Does your stomach clench up when you think about doing it? Does your energy feel lighter when you think of that choice?
Breath deeply into the choices you have and see if anyone feels more peaceful than the rest.
See if you can just step back now from the decision and come back to it later. Not to be procrastinating, but to let yourself see things as they unfold after you spend some time with it. Let yourself off of the hook a little bit too. If this seems like a challenging decision do get some perspective. Ask a for help, find a counselor, minister, or someone you can trust to help you get some perspective. There is no harm in asking for help from your guides and the universe either.
Have a fabulous week!
When people come for a session with me they get an energy bath. I clean off patterns that are not supportive, foreign energy, other people in your space. Etc. This give people the sense of lightness, ease, and peace that helps them stand in their own power. But it is even more important for everyone to learn good energetic hygiene for themselves. It is like taking a shower or brushing your teeth. You wouldn’t go years without doing that! Yet many of us neglect our energy fields and don’t acknowledge the power it has over how we feel and what we can accomplish.
The problem is none of us were trained to wash our energy. So you might need a little guidance, just to get your conscious mind around what it means to “clean” your energy field. There are books out there that you can get about these topics. There are classes you can take online and in person. The resources are out there and I highly encourage you to use them.
Insightful Inspiration for the week
Establish a daily energetic cleansing technique for yourself and commit to doing it for at least a week. Notice what shifts as you do this. Here are some ideas on what you could do (it doesn’t have to take long). I always encourage you to explore what works for you and come up with your own technique.
Phase one: Grounding
- Visualize a grounding cord from your tail bone, dropping down to the center of the earth and connecting. Then open up as wide as your hips, making it hollow for full release.
- Go outside and site in the grass with your socks off.
- Visualize growing roots out of your butt and your feet, into the earth, feel the roots bringing nourishment back into your body from the earth.
Phase two: Cleansing
- Visualize a silver shower, rinsing away any energy that is not supporting you.
- Sit in the sun and take in the warmth allowing it to release any energy that is not supporting you.
- Rub your hands together and then pull them apart just an inch. Feel the energy surging between them, then use your hands to wipe off any energetic debris.
Phase three: Filling in
- Imagine a huge, golden sun above your head, calling all your energy from all directions in time back into it and then draining the golden energy into the top of your head, into your entire body and space around you.
- Feel the spark of divine light in your belly button and allow it to expand and fill in your body and space around you.
- Notice a source of light above your head, allow that light to shine into your body and the space around you.
Phase four: Shielding
- Imagine a rose in front of you, representing your energy, just outside your space. Ground it to the center of the earth and let it collect up all the energy of the world and process it for you.
- Surround yourself with white light.
- Use hematite jewelry or some other material that represents protection for you and allow it to shield your energy throughout the day.
Share you techniques with us on Facebook. If you have had an energy bath with me, share with us how that helped you in your daily life and give your insights on how your attention to this fact can help you going forward.
