The Gap - Transitions

Transitions are movement, passage, or change from one position, state, stage, subject, concept, etc., to another; change as defined by dictionary.com. Quite plainly, going from one thing to another.

This is the primary time for all energetic things to go out of whack. The crazy thing is, we are always in transition. So what does that mean for our energy? It means it is time to be aware of why it goes out of whack to begin with and what to do about it.

First Embrace it

When you are in a time of transition, for example moving to a new house, new job, new relationship, etc. you are feeling unclear about where you are headed and nervous about what you are leaving behind. It is a gap between the known to the unknown. But the gap is where the freedom lies.

Right before you start that new job, you can release old patterns of being at work and start fresh. Right before you move to a new house, you can go through your things and clear out the things you no longer need. This is an excellent time to reevaluate, slow down, and recreate.

You are not yet in an automatic pattern or have gone unconscious with your day-to-day. What a great opportunity for awareness and intentionally creating new relationships with your day-to-day life!

Transitions don't have to be big either and you could even just be going through a transition within yourself that no one even knows about. Maybe you are deciding to eat differently or think differently, maybe you are even deciding to just breathe differently. These are all little opportunities to pay attention and make small adjustments to set yourself on the forward path.

Second, Clean Your Energetic House

What throws you off in times of transitions?

Self reflect. What transition are you fighting with right now? Are you trying to close the gap and "get on with it" rather than being present with the time in-between? Or maybe just the opposite, and you are struggling to stay in the in-between because you are afraid of what is on the other side.

Pay attention, these are fears and patterns you have carried with you for a long time. You can clean your energetic closet during this time as preparation for what is to come next. There is nothing to predict or plan for on the other side yet. Take the transition to make the next steps the solid ones you want.

Then Get Excited about it

The unknown means change is possible. This is an exciting time! You have an idea (maybe) on where you are headed, but you couldn’t possibly know about it all. That is the best part!

Let yourself set intentions and imagine what it might feel like to be somewhere, someone, something different than you are now. Let yourself be curious and open your heart to the idea that the energies are manifesting with you, not to you. Partner up!

Finally, Flow with it

The key to transitions is to allow them to flow. Pay attention to everything that shows up in the gap. Your fears, your struggles, your thoughts, your friends and family’s thoughts are all things to noitice. These are hints as to where you are headed next and what might be holding you back from the flow.

Set intentions every day to surrender where you have been so that you may find out where you are headed. Try to quiet the question of how you are going to get there. Try and quiet the need to make the unknown known. You are in one of the best parts of this reality, that is, nothing ever stays the same.
